Our team has recently refurbished and installed a 75MVA 110/22kV power transformer in Tasmania. The Bluff Point Wind Farm, owned by Woolnorth Renewables, is located on the historic Woolnorth grazing property on the north-west tip of the state and produces about two per cent of Tasmania’s electricity needs.

The scope of works included replacing the on-load tap changer, insulation materials and components. The unit was extensively refurbished both internally and externally and painted with a three-coat C5-M marine paint protection system to withstand the highly corrosive and harsh coastal weather conditions.
 
The transformer has now been successfully energised and returned to service.
