ALBURY WODONGA SOLAR CAR CHALLENGE The Albury Wodonga Solar Car Challenge has been supported since 2004 and continues to be a great success and encourages secondary school students to become involved in mathematics and science. Each year at Wilson Transformer Park, our second site in Wodonga, teams from different schools race their model solar cars which are supported by industry members. PRIZES FOR MONASH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS Since 1969, the Jack Wilson Prize and the Wilson Transformer Company Prize have been awarded to third and final year students in electrical and computer systems engineering at Monash University who have shown proficiency and initiative in electrical power engineering. |

Wilson Transformer Company place emphasis on the learning & development of employees as part of skills upgrading. We sponsor selected our employees in Professional and Leadership courses such as Supply Chain Management, High Performance Management and for factory and field staff, related courses such as HSE for Design, Regulated Safety Training and Root Cause Analysis. |
We sponsor apprentices in various fields such as Engineering, Fabrication Trade and Engineering Mechanical Trade. These are 4-year apprenticeship programmes, during which apprentices attend a TAFE once a week during the first 3 years and subsequently undergoes a full year’s Work Placement within the Company to fulfil all the requirements of the respective qualifications. |
We have a 2-year training program for newly graduated engineers who join Wilson Transformer Company in the Power Business Unit. The objective is to give the trainees a comprehensive understanding and extensive experience in Power Transformer Manufacture, Test, Services and Design through a rotation in different departments in Glen Waverley facility. |
